Pianist Denis Matsuev performs in Berlin with young Russian musicians

The performances of the famous Russian pianist Denis Matsuev and scholarship holders of the New Names Foundation are held in Berlin, the website of the Ministry of Culture reports. They are part of the Russian Seasons project.

The concert program began on December 15. Young talents demonstrated their abilities together with the world-famous Russian musician. Among them are pianists Olga Ivanenko and Roman Sher, violinist Sergei Mkrtichyan, clarinet player Anna Katenina and oboe player Varvava Petrova. They will perform classical works of Russian and foreign composers.

Denis Matsuev performed with the orchestra of the Russian-German Academy of Music conducted by maestro Gergiev. The program was composed by the music of Rachmaninov and Stravinsky.

The orchestra was created five years ago. Young musicians from the largest German orchestras and representatives of the Mariinsky Theater united in the creative team under the guidance of maestro Gergiev. The team regularly performs in St. Petersburg and Berlin.

The Russian Seasons project takes place in almost a hundred German cities. Several million Germans attended the cultural events of the project. In total, more than four hundred events took place. The program included concerts, lectures, film festivals, circus performances.
