Russian Academy of Education proposes to establish Lyudmila Verbitskaya Prize

Russian Academy of Education (RAE) has proposed to perpetuate the memory of the academy’s honorary president Lyudmila Verbitskaya, TASS reports. This idea was stated by the head of the supervisory board of the academy, the deputy head of the presidential executive office Magomedsalam Magomedov. 

Russkiy Mir reported that the Russian linguist, scientist and the organizer of science, the president of St. Petersburg State University, the honorary president of the RAE, the chairwoman of the supervisory board of the Russkiy Mir Foundation passed away on November 24.

Magomedov came up with the idea of establishing a prize on Tuesday, December 3, at a meeting of the supervisory board of RAE. He said that the academy wanted the prize to be awarded for the most interesting scientific research and methodological developments in the field of Russian language and literature. RAE also proposed to organize a scientific and humanitarian conference dedicated to the memory of Lyudmila Verbitskaya every year.
