13th Russkiy Mir Assembly opens in Yaroslavl

Annual 13th Russkiy Mir Assembly was launched in Yaroslavl in Russian Drama Theater n.a. Volkov on November, 2. Memory and Victory Space in Russian Word is the main topic.
Traditionally, the forum welcomes compatriots living abroad, Russian politicians, figures of culture and science, activists of youth and student organizations and many others patriciate in the forum. All of them, independently of nationalities, citizenship and religion, are united by love for Russia and a sincere interest to its culture and history. This year people from 70 countries came to the forum.
The place choice is not accidental. 2019 is called the year of theater, and actually Yaroslavl is the birthplace of the first Russian national professional theatre founded in 1750 by a merchant’s son Fyodor Volkov. Since the 19th century the Volkov Theatre is situated in the centre of the city. More than 1000 years old, Yaroslavl is one of the most beautiful Russian cities which breathes great history.
There are many interesting events in the frames of the 13th Russkiy Mir Assembly.
On the eve before the Assembly started, the award ceremony for the winners of international contests #RuMirDigital and Third TV Contest organised by Russkiy Mir Foundation was conducted. Q&As with Russian and foreign theater personalities and Romanciada stars concert took place.
On the 2nd November, the Memory and Victory Space in Russian Word panel discussion and other discussion sites dedicated to Russian language and culture, science and history were launched. Russian theater, World War 2, RSL didactic literature expositions were set as well.
