Truth and Beauty of Opera. Mussorgsky and Rimsky-Korsakov Exhibition opens in Budapest, according to the website of the Ministry of Culture. It was prepared by the Russian National Museum of Music, the exposition is located in the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office. It is dedicated to the anniversaries of the great Russian composers – this year marks 175 years from the birthday of Nikolay Rimsky and 180 years – from the anniversary of Modest Mussorgsky. The exhibition will also be held as part of the Year of the Theater in Russia.

The exhibition project is dedicated to the history of the creation of the famous operas - Khovanshchina, Boris Godunov, Marriage, Sorochinskaya Fair and Salambo. Among the exhibits are manuscripts, photographs of scenes from performances, scores, posters, programs and much more. The exhibition in the Hungarian capital will be opened by the director of the Museum of Music Mikhail Bryzgalov.

Mussorgsky wrote five operas but finished only Boris Godunov. The opera was prepared for publishing by his friend Rimsky-Korsakov.

The exhibition is included in the program of the Russian Music Festival in Hungary. Russkiy Mir reported that it was held for the second time. The venues of the cultural forum will open in Budapest and other cities - Debrecen and Szeged in particular.

The art director of the musical show, the famous pianist Marcel Szabo noted that this year the works of Tchaikovsky, Glinka, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Scriabin were being played.

The organizers noted that the first festival, which took place last year, was a success. A good start to the project allows us to hope that it will continue.

Festival Director Yboya Dobos has no doubt that the festival will surely take its place among other important events in the country's cultural life.
