OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Arlem Dezir would like to hope that the court, which will be held in the Ukrainian capital on July 19, will release Kirill Vyshinsky. According to Arlem Dezir, the prolonged detention of a journalist in custody pending trial is disturbing, RIA Novosti reports. He once again appealed to the Kiev authorities to release Vyshinsky.

It should be recalled that the trial in the case of Kirill Vyshinsky has been moved moved. This is the second delay in the last month. If on July 3 the prosecutor's office declared that the prosecutors were not ready for the meeting, this time it turned out that the judges were busy in another case.

Now the meeting will be held on July 19, despite the fact that earlier Ukrainian prosecutors allowed the possibility of the release of a journalist from arrest. The term of his detention ends on July 22.

Vyshinsky himself had previously stated at the court hearing that prosecutors did not care about justice; they only needed him to remain behind bars for as long as possible.

According to the official representative of Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova, no one, except the radical Ukrainian nationalists, has any doubt that Vyshinsky case is a farce and absurdity. She also believes that some politicians in Kiev are using the case for their “political survival”. Maria Zakharova called it insane that a person is detained without any particular claims to him.

As Russkiy Mir reported, Kirill Vyshinsky was arrested last spring. He is accused of supporting the republics of Donbass and high treason; the maximum term of imprisonment for the charges may be 15 years.
