Russian authorities are increasing the number of categories of people who are allowed to obtain a residence permit without the need to obtain a temporary residence permit, RIA Novosti reports. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that the Government meeting will consider draft laws aimed at facilitating the entry of foreigners into the country. It will be easier to stay in the country due to a more convenient procedure for obtaining temporary residence permits.

According to Head of Government, the time for consideration of applications is reduced by two months. It reached six months earlier, now it is four months.

A residence permit will be available to people born in the RSFSR and possessing the citizenship of the Soviet Union. Also, this number includes deported from Crimea and their direct descendants, children adopted by citizens of other countries, highly qualified specialists and some other categories.

In addition, the so-called permanent residence permit is introduced.

As Russkiy Mir reported, Vladimir Putin approved a simplified procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship for residents of Donbass. The President also signed a decree on simplifying the procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship for certain categories of foreigners. In particular, the decree applies to citizens of Ukraine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen and Syria.
