Road of Friendship: bikers from Russia and China set off from Beijing to St. Petersburg

Bikers from Russia and China will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries by going from Beijing to Saint-Petersburg. The column starts on April 27 and plans to finish on June 4. About twenty bikers will set on the road at the beginning but their number can grow significantly with time, Xinhua reports.

The motor race will start from the Russian Embassy in Beijing at the time when Russian President Vladimir Putin is in China with an official visit.  The days when the participants finish the trip, the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping is expected to visit Moscow. 

The route will run through Ulan-Ude, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Chelyabinsk, Kazan and other Russian cities. The length of the path will be about nine thousand kilometers. The race will be attended by representatives of several of the most massive biker clubs in Russia and China. 

Shang Jingo, a motorcycle runner, told RIA Novosti that he had traveled around Russia more than once and preferred it to other countries because the residents gave him a warm welcome. According to the biker, he loves the Siberian part of the way most of all because of the spectacular views. Russian biker Yuri Feoktistov said he was glad to participate in the race, which will be a gift to the peoples of the two countries for the anniversary of diplomatic relations.
