The concert, which opened the Soaring Phoenix International Festival of children and youth creativity, took place in Beijing on Sunday, March 31. It was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China, TASS reports.

The Chinese Alumni Association of Russian and Soviet Universities became the organizer of the event. It turns 30 this year.

Head of the Association Liu Limin recalled that the two countries are closely cooperating in cultural and humanitarian sphere, and their cooperation is constantly being strengthened and growing. It applies to different directions. Bilateral exchanges are constantly developing. Liu Limin called them a model of dialogue between two civilizations.

Guests from Russia appeared on the stage and performed vocal and choreographic performances. Russian actors also performed works in Chinese.

According to Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the People's Republic of China Olga Melnikova, humanitarian partnership is no less valuable than political or economic ones. It is an important component of Russian-Chinese contacts.

Chinese Alumni Association of Russian and Soviet Universities is one of the largest associations with an extensive network of offices throughout the country. Tens of thousands of Chinese specialists who were studying in the Soviet Union and Russia make a huge contribution to the spread of Russian language in China, and to preservation and development of strong bilateral ties.
