Russian wins Sony World Photography Awards

Sergey Scherbakov's work is called the best photograph in Sony World Photography Awards National prize. The Stavropol region native became the winner of one of the most important contests in the world, RIA Novosti reports. 

Sergey developed interest in photography during his middleschool years. The jury chose his photograph from series of 8 Gdansk photographs.

Choosing winners in National nomination the Jury of the Prize aims to support talented photographers from 60 countries. Scherbakov's work to be published in the catalogue of the contest and will be exhibited in British capital. The exposition to be open from April, 18 to May, 6. The winner is going to be awarded with Sony photography kit.

The contest is going to be concluded in april, when names of all winners in all categories to be announced.
