The successes of the Russian authorities and diplomats in foreign policy have demonstrated the official Washington’s paucity of thinking as its attempts to isolate Russia have failed, professor at New York and Princeton University Stephen Cohen writes in an article for The Nation magazine, TASS quoted the expert opinion. According to Cohen, it is time for America to learn from Moscow how to solve world conflicts and conduct diplomacy otherwise the US will be isolated.

The expert writes that in the last four years despite the aggressive US policy towards Russia, Moscow has been able to expand its political and economic partnerships with China, Iran, Turkey, Syria, Saudi Arabia, India, and other countries as well as European countries that imposed sanctions against Russia but continue to cooperate with Moscow in key areas. Without Russia, its authority and opinion no major international conflict would not be solved today. Cohen claims that Moscow acts as an organizer of the peace process in Syria, Serbia, Kosovo, and Afghanistan.

“Has any of the western leaders in recent history been able to achieve the same results in international politics as Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov?” asks Stephen Cohen in his article. He comes to a negative conclusion analyzing the results of the work of American presidents Bush Jr. and Obama, as well as the German Chancellor Merkel.

The American expert believes that the strengths of Russian foreign policy and successful diplomacy are a clear position on preserving the country's sovereignty, the patriotism of the leadership and decision-makers, as well as Russia's readyness to negotiations and interaction with all participants in international processes.
