Pacific Meridian Festival final: Chinese film wins Grand Prix

The Widowed Witch of Chinese film director Tsai Chenjie won the main award of the Pacific Meridian International Film Festival, Interfax reports.

The results of the festival that united the cinematography of the Asia-Pacific region were announced on September 27, in the capital of the Primorsky Krai. The main guest of the closing ceremony was the Hollywood actor Steven Seagal. He called Vladivostok a very unusual place. It is close to China, Korea and Japan. In his opinion, the city turned into an authentic center of art as the cultures of different countries were intertwined here.

Russian actress Agnes Tsvelodub was recognized the best. She starred in a short film called Type 8. Michael Huang received the award as the best actor for his work in Father to Son. The author of the film The Great Buddha+ a Taiwanese Juan Xingyao became best director.

The program of the film forum included almost 190 films from 46 countries. Four ones of them are world premieres.

The first film festival in Vladivostok was held in 2002.

This year, special attention was paid to the sphere of education. Teachers of the well-known New York Film Academy Igor Torgeson and Lydia Cedrone were invited to conduct some workshops.
