Annual Russian Heritage Month summarised in New York

16th Annual Russian Heritage Month continues to showcase the talents, traditions and achievements of Russian-speaking communities in the US, Russian American Foundation reported.

This year, in recognition of the community's accomplishments, the New York State Senate and State Assembly voted on a resolution to proclaim June 5, 2018 the Day of Russian-speaking Communities in Albany.

The 16th Annual Russian Heritage Month featured a vast array of performances, exhibits, concerts, literary discussions and community events. Among highlights there are a roundtable discussion on Russian-American writers, At the Crossroads of Asia and Europe exhibition, The Joy of Freedom classical music concert at Carnegie Hall honoring the 70th Anniversary of Israel's Independence, Job fair and community festival Together in New York showcasing the community's cultural diversity and featuring dance performances from talented youth groups.
