New materials from the military archives were published at the website of Russian Defense Ministry, RIA Novosti informs. A specialized historical multimedia section shares information about deeds of the Soviet women at battles of WWII. The launch of the special section was timed with celebration of March 8. The Russian Defense Ministry has reminded that our women demonstrated unprecedented courage and heroism and deserved immortal glory.

Everybody is welcome to familiarize themselves with the documents stored in the central archive of the Russian Defense Ministry including documentary photos, reports, letters, newspaper articles and award papers.

In particular, the deed of nurse Maria Feofanova is described. She took 46 wounded soldiers out of the battlefield. Lance Bombardier Natalia Kostitsina destroyed the fascist gun detachment. The documents also state the heroic deeds of radio operator Olga Filatkina, Hero of the Soviet Union Tatiana Baramzina, tank operator Maria Oktyabrskaya and many others.

This is a mix of women’s destinies at war, where each story is a miniature war history itself.
