4.bp.blogspot.comThe famous Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova is back in the top 50 female tennis players of the world according to the World Tennis Association (WTA). She has moved 12 points up, from 59 to 47, Vesti TV channel reports.

There are 6 other sportswomen in the top 50 apart from Maria. The top rating belongs to Svetlana Kuznetsova, who is the 14th in the list. Anastasia Pavlychenkova is 2 points below her. Elena Vesnina is the 17th, Daria Kasatkina is the 24th, Ekaterina Makarova is the 33rd.

The Romanian tennis player Simona Halep has kept her leadership. The second place belongs to the Dutch Caroline Wozniacki, with the Spanish Garbine Muguruza closing the top 3 list.

Maria Sharapova had been disqualified for 15 months which made her go down in the WTA rating. After that she taken another title, winning in the Chinese Tianjin.

It is worth reminding that the best match of 2017 according to WTA was the one between Sharapova and Halep, which took place in late August and lasted for 2 hours 40 minutes.
