Pushkin Museums starts collaboration with two LA museums

The Pushkin State Museum of Fine ArtsThe Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts starts cooperation with major American museums The Getty Center and Los Angeles County Museum of Art in LA, TASS reports. 

According to the chair of The Pushkin Museum Marina Loshak collaboration with LACMA starts in the coming year. Museums with produce collection of contemporary artists. Each year the museums to choose one art protagonist to realize large project. Among proposed art figures are Lithuanian American filmmaker, poet and artist Jonas Mekas, US video artist Gary Hill, Russian pro-feminist artist Irina Nakhova, Russian multimedia artist Anton Kuryshev.

Educational and restoration programs are going to be realized together with Getty Center.

According to Marina Loshak, more than 80 exhibitions were visited by 1,2 million of visitors this year. She has mentioned that due to the fact that museum's building is very old it should be handled with care and can't host more people. Recently Pushkin State Museum started selling tickets online for public commodity.

The director has also reiterated that museums earns enough money to cover half of its budget.
