Serbian director's film on Nikolay Raevsky is financed by Russia

pixabay.comSerbian director Goran Erčević has started working on a new feature The Star and the Death of Prince Vronsky. Serbian Gambit, reports Serbia and Ex-Jugoslavia website. The feature tells about life of Nikolay Raevsky Junior and his participation in Serbian–Ottoman War in 1876-1878.

There's a parallel between Nikolay Raevsky and Alexey Vronsky, the protagonist of the Anna Karenina novel of Leo Tolstoy, in the movie.

This partly documentary feature is based on real events. It is being produced with support of Russian Ministry of Culture, Russian Historical Society and The National History Foundation.

The shooting to be partly held near the Gornji Adrovac village where Nikolay Raevsky has died.

It is the second film of Goran Erčević dedicated to Nikolay Raevsky's life and battle with the Ottoman Empire. Previous feature went on the screen last year.
