Serbia will not break off relations with Russia to please US

27.10.2017

vksrs.comSerbian Foreign Minister has called a nonsense the statement made by US Deputy Secretary of State that Belgrade should not have good relations with USA and Russia at the same time, RIA Novosti.

Paying a visit to Serbia US senior official during his negotiations with the Serbian President Aleksander Vucic has claimed that Washington is concerned with growing Russian influence on the Balkans. Besides, he has made a negative statement on cooperation of Moscow and Belgrade. The State Department’s representative believes that the Serbian authorities should stop attempts to play a double game balancing between relations with Russia and the Western countries. He has also claimed that the State Department does not approve of the diplomatic status to Russian-Serbian humanitarian center acting in the city of Nish, Serbia.

The First Prime Minister of Serbia and Serbian Foreign Minister Ivitsa Dacic has claimed that Serbia is not interested in games at all. We do not play anybody else’s games at all, our only game is Serbia, he added.

Dacic has noted that status of the humanitarian center is defined by Belgrade only. He has underlined that his country has a right to stay between the East and the West.

Russian Embassy has reminded that US are not included into the European Union and might not be aware of the fact that many countries in EU continue building relations with Russia based on mutual benefits. Russian Foreign Ministry is sure that nobody is entitled to interfere with Serbian ways of leading the politics arising from its national interests.
