Pushkin sculpture was raised in The Royal Library in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Russian Ambassador in Denmark Mikhail Vanin, library management, Russian compatriots and local Pushkin poetry admirers were present at the opening ceremony that coincided with Pushkin's birth date, June 6th.

After the monument opening several participants recited Pushkin's verses.

An agreement on conducting annual Russian language celebration was reached with the library director Hans Christian Michelsen. It is planned that this celebration will turn into a joyful festival of Pushkin, Russian poetry and literature that will develop interest in Russian culture among locals and engage many people not only of Russian origin.
