Ufa to host 4th International Folkloriada

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree about conduction of VI International Folkloriada in Ufa in 2020, TASS reports.

Russian government is to establish an organizing committee on preparation and conduction of the Folkloriada. The cultural event will be financed by Russian Ministry of Culture and from the local budget of Bashkiria. Extra-budgetary resources are to be attracted too.

International Folkloriada is organized once in four years. This large-scale event has a purpose of gathering representatives of Intangible Cultural Heritage at one place. Its task is to demonstrate a variety of humanity cultural heritage and strive to keep it.

The main part of Folkloriada 2020 will traditionally consist of artistic performances. Visitors will play national games, get acquainted with craftsmen preserving ancient traditions, attend master classes and lectures.

International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts at UNESCO made a decision to conduct International Folkloriada in the capital of Bashkiria this year.
