Tsvetaeva’s anniversary will be celebrated with poetical readings and exhibitions

Marina Tsetaeva’s anniversary will be celebrated around the country. This year marks the 125 anniversary of the poet’s birthday. Hundreds of events will be held on this occasion, including exhibitions, poetic readings, lectures, seminars. In addition, there is a proposal to conduct school lectures dedicated to her poetic expression. The Russian Post is planning to print 3 million anniversary envelopes.  

The main celebrations will take place at the Tsvetaeva memorial museums. There are eight of them around the country. In addition, this remarkable event will be celebrated in libraries and other cultural centers. The main festive evening will happen at the Moscow's Central House of Writers. 

The opening of the memorial Tsvetaeva apartment in Borisoglebsky backstreet in Moscow will also coincide with the anniversary. More than 25 million rubles was allocated for the renovating. Graffiti will embellish the building where Tsvetaeva lived. In May of this year the memorial apartment will open doors for the first visitors.  

The museum is planning to invite viewers to see the exhibition Where is my House on the birthday day itself, October 8th. The topic will be focused on the psychology of Tsvetaeva poetic heritage.  

Over the summer, 2017 many discussions and lectures will be held in parks. Marina Tsetaeva’s Moscow guide and poetry translations made by the poet, will be released at the very beginning of the fall.
