Russia's equivalent of Wikipedia ru.wiki.ru is launched, RIA Novosti reports. The title page is available in a beta version, but the organizers promise that in the near future it will be possible to edit the articles of the free encyclopedia.

At the moment, there are almost two million articles in Russian.

Let us remember that last year Roskomnadzor announced measures against Wikimedia Foundation. Search engines have to point out to the Internet users that the portal violates Russian law, which it does not block illegal information, including with regard to Russia.

Earlier, the Safe Internet League noted that Wikipedia had lost its independent status and was actively involved in spreading false information about the course and purpose of Russia's special operation in Ukraine. It was also noted that in the English-language segment, anti-Russian fakes are often contributed by bots.

A year ago, the Znanie (The Knowledge) website was launched; it was developed on the basis of the Great Russian Encyclopedia.

Italian entrepreneur Marco Maggi's book, "Russian to the Bone," is now accessible for purchase in Italy and is scheduled for release in Russia in the upcoming months. In the book, Marco recounts his personal odyssey, narrating each stage of his life as a foreigner in Russia—starting from the initial fascination to the process of cultural assimilation, venturing into business, fostering authentic friendships, and ultimately, reaching a deep sense of identifying as a Russian at his very core.
