Russia’s Consulate General in Houston resumes its work after hurricane

pixabay.comToday, September 6, General Consulate of the Russian Federation in Houston has resumed operations in full scope, RIA Novosti reports.

Russian Embassy had to close due to the hurricane Harvey at the South-East of USA. The hurricane did considerable harm to the building of the General Consulate. Some areas were flooded, however, in three days the employees managed to resume operations partially.

The press-service of Consulate General has spread a message about additional time when the US citizens may come to the Consulate. People planning to visit the Embassy from 28th of August until 1st of September should register their visit one more time.

It is worth reminding that tropical storm Harvey battering the South of USA, in particular, Taxes had catastrophic aftermath. More than 60 people died, hundreds were injured. The building in Houston, which Russian Foreign Ministry rents for its Consulate General, unfortunately was also disastrously flooded, but Russian diplomats were safe.
