04.09.2017

Russian Defense MinistryRussian Foreign Ministry Official Spokesperson Maria Zakharova claimed in her interview to NTV Channel that rummages of diplomatic possessions of the Russian Federation by USA might be connected to willingness to prove that Russia interfered with Presidential elections of 2016. The diplomat has commented that particular political groups have not still reconciled with the defeat trying to shift the blame for their own mistakes to Russian hackers and Russian authorities and impede Russian-American relations deliberately. Zakharova has expressed opinion that some politicians by all means want to “hold anti-Russian topic up and running” as US House of Assembly elections are approaching.

Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov has expressed his deep regrets about shutting down Russian General Consulate in San Francisco and searches in Russian Embassy in Washington. He stressed that actions of American authorities are “an act of violation of international law”. They contradict convention of diplomatic relations.

It is worth reminding that US authorities shut down Russian General Consulate in San Francisco and conducted searches in Russian buildings deprived of diplomatic inviolability.
