Russian swimmers have earned gold three times at the FINA World Championships and World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, TASS reports.

Yuliya Yefimova has climbed onto the top podium spot for the fifth time after the 200-meter breast-stroke competitions. She has become the seventh swimmer in the Russian sport history to have five golds in individual competitions.

Now Yefimova has more medals than the head of Russian Swimming Federation Vladimir Salnikov. Eugine Popov is the only one Russian swimming athlete who has more medals than Yefimova. He has become World Champion for aquatics sports six times.

Eugene Rulov has won gold by finishing in the 200-meter backstroke race despite his wounded shoulder. His gold was the first in men's competitions in the last 14 years.

According to Sports Minister Pavel Korobkov, this award might be called the historical one.

Anton Chulkov, who has won the bronze at the Olympics 2016, has just hit the record, covering 200-meter distance in 2 minutes 6,96 seconds.

Another silver medal was received by our national team after the relay. In the general standings our team is at the third place with 21 medals, including 11 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze medals.
