Alexandrinsky Theater Days started in Banja Luka

The Days of the Alexandrinsky Theater started in the Republic of Srpska, TASS reports. The opening ceremony was timed to coincide with the national holiday - Republic Day, which is celebrated on January, 9. The theater festival is hosted by the capital of the entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina - the city of Banja Luka.

The one-man show ''Eugene Onegin. Chapters from the novel'' has been brought to the country. The famous Russian actor Pyotr Semak is involved in it. The play was staged by Igor Volkov.

The cultural program of the Days of the Alexander Theater includes educational activities. Students of the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka will be invited to a master class by a guest from Russia. In addition, a cooperation agreement will be signed between the Russian creative team and the Serbian higher education institution.

Milorad Dodik, who heads the Republika Srpska, highly appreciated the strengthening of interaction between the two countries in the cultural sphere. He hopes that these ties will become even stronger.

The Days of the Alexander Theater in Banja Luka took place for the first time a year ago. The audience saw the one-man show ''The Desire to Live!'' performed by Sergei Parshin. The production combined fragments from the works of Shukshin, Sholokhov and other Russian writers. They were complemented by Russian folk songs.
