Armenian regulator suspended Sputnik Armenia radio from airing for 30 days

Yerevan has suspended the license of the Sputnik Armenia radio broadcaster, RIA Novosti reports. The Television and Radio Commission announced that the restriction will remain in effect for a month.

The regulator clarified that two administrative cases had been opened agaisnt the broadcaster. One of them concerns the Friday with Tigran Keosayan program, aired on November, 17. The defendant in the second case is the Abovyan Time program; it was also fined $ 1,200.

The Russian Ministry of Digital Development previously called the claims of the Armenian authorities agaisnt Russian media unfounded. The department noted that there was not a single fact confirming the complaints.

In October, the Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out to Yerevan that an ''unbridled'' campaign against Russia had been launched in the Armenian media field. It covered the media, television, social networks and concerned the Russian authorities, diplomats and peacekeepers.
