Lomonosov Square laid in Shenzhen

A public garden named after the outstanding Russian scientist Mikhail Lomonosov was laid out in Shenzhen, China. There is already a university opened by Lomonosov Moscow State University and Beijing Polytechnic Institute (MSU-PPI) operating in this city. The rector of Moscow State University, Viktor Sadovnichy, took part in the laying of the square, TASS reports.

The park will be built on the territory of the Russian-Chinese university. Moscow State University stressed that the joint work of the two educational institutions helps to introduce Russian scientists to China and the world, and also contributes to the entry of young people into science.

Next year will mark ten years since the signing of the agreement on the creation of a joint university. Viktor Sadovnichy noted that over the years of its existence, the university has become the ''flagship of cooperation'' between Russia and China in the educational, scientific and innovation fields.

The rector of Moscow State University came to China as part of the Open Week Nauka 0+, held since October, 24 by the University of Moscow State University-PPI, universities of two countries and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.

During the week, lectures by more than 50 scientists from the two countries, exhibitions, scientific and educational events, excursions and many others are planned.
