Russian cinema will be presented at the film festival in Tokyo, RIA Novosti reports. The competition program includes Alexey German Jr's Air. In total, 15 films will compete for the main prize of the film festival. They were selected from almost 2,000 films from more than 100 countries.

The screening at the 36th Tokyo Film Festival will be the world premiere of the Russian film.

Several film festival venues will open in the center of Tokyo. The festival includes nine programs, uniting 219 films in total. The jury will be headed by famous director Wim Wenders.

The forum is considered one of the largest in the world and the most prestigious in Asia; it is rightfully one of the most authoritative festivals in the world. In 2020, Andrei Konchalovsky’s film Dear Comrades! was screened at the festival as part of the World Focus program.
