The Tchaikovsky Grand Symphony Orchestra (GSO) has begun a tour in China, the Ministry of Culture reports. The large-scale tour started the day before, on September, 13. It will last until the end of the month.

The place at the conductor's stand is taken by the artistic director of the GSO Vladimir Fedoseev. Conductor Denis Lotoev will also perform with the creative team. He has been collaborating with the orchestra for more than 25 years.

Residents of Harbin were the first to meet Russian musicians. The tour route runs through the cities of Guangzhou, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing. The concert program includes all symphonies of Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The GSO has been named after the great composer for 30 years. Abroad, the group is known as Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra.

The GSO concert took place on June, 22 at the Great Wall of China. The site was set up near one of the most famous landmarks in China. The stage was set against the backdrop of Badaling, the mountain range on which the site closest to Beijing was built. About 1,000 people attended the open-air concert.
