Alexandrov Ensemble to perform in Pyongyang at concert in honor of DPRK's anniversary

The Alexandrov Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army will perform on Septemberб 9 at a concert in honor of the formation of the DPRK. The day before, the singers and the head of the legendary Russian ensemble Gennady Sachenyuk arrived in the North Korean capital, TASS reports.

The visit is taking place at the invitation of the North Korean Ministry of Defense. The diplomatic mission noted that the Alexandrov Ensemble had rehearsed the performance program for a month.

The performances of the famous group will take place on September, 9 at a concert in honor of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK. On October, 12, Moscow and Pyongyang will celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations that were established in 1948.

The embassy noted that the Russian army ensemble will perform in the DPRK for the first time in several years, and this will be a new step towards strengthening ties ''between the fraternal armies of the two countries.''
