The special screening of "Vysotsky. Unknown pages. Odessa Notebook" was held in Venice, TASS reports. The public watched the documentary by Anatoly Balchev at the famous film festival. According to the director, the film is not part of the screening program, but it was included in the Venice Production Bridge film market package.

The documentary is dedicated to that part of the life of the poet, singer and actor, which he spent in Odessa. He starred in movies there and authored many songs written for films created at the Odessa Film Studio. The film includes a large amount of archival materials, the director specified.

Anatoly Balchev added that the film also tells about Odessa of those years. Showing the picture in Venice is not accidental. Venice and Odessa are united by the sea, he explained.

The film features songs by Vysotsky, as well as the music of Chopin, whom he loved, and Schnittke, whom he was familiar with. Balchev himself, according to him, collaborated a lot with Vysotsky. He began to create the film a long time ago, but the work went slowly, it was complicated by the search for archival materials.

The film was first seen in London and Paris and is scheduled to be included in the program of the Sifa festival in the UK. It is possible that its limited release will take place in Italy.
