Moscow demanded that Washington stop the hunt for Russian citizens in other countries. The head of the Russian diplomatic mission in the United States, Anatoly Antonov, noted that for Moscow it is an absolute priority to return home all Russians who are in American prisons, TASS reports.

According to the diplomat, Russia has always been against the hunt for Russians, opened by the Americans, in "third" countries. Antonov noted that Washington does not care about the interests of other countries, it is guided only by its own rules. The ambassador stressed that Moscow would never put up with such an approach.

The diplomat called the return of prisoners from American prisons a priority for Russia. He noted that the diplomatic mission is doing everything possible to return them home. The head of the embassy called on American politicians and journalists to stop "playing on the fate of people", leaving the solution of these issues to specialists.

Russia and the United States maintain a channel of communication on prisoner exchanges, and in the recent past this has helped several Russians return to their homeland.
