Indian school students will be taught by participants in the Russian Teacher Abroad humanitarian project, according to the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. The corresponding agreement was signed by the departmental Center for International Cooperation and the Mount Abu Indian public school.

According to Deputy Minister of Education Denis Gribov, the study of the Russian language in India is becoming more and more popular. The lessons are taught by local teachers. They, of course, know Russian, the representative of the Ministry of Education specified, but they are not native speakers.

Denis Gribov is sure that the relevance of the project in India is especially high.

The Russian Teacher Abroad project aims to promote the study of the Russian language and popularize Russian education in other countries.

At the moment, the project operates in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, Mongolia, Serbia, Uzbekistan and Turkey. The number of its members is approaching 400. Russian teachers work in more than 200 educational institutions. In the next academic year, the project will expand to China, Venezuela, Cuba.
