Popularity of Russian performers is growing in Asian countries

In China, South and North Korea and other Asian countries, the popularity of Russian performers is growing. Thousands of spectators buy tickets for performances by Russians in Asian countries, a multi-million audience watches concerts and videos of Russian performers on the Internet, RIA Novosti reports.

The tour of the Bolshoi Theater in July enjoyed great success in China this year. In the spring, the performances of the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev in Shanghai caused a sensation among the Chinese public. Thousands of spectators were able to visit them, there was a rush demand for tickets.

In the pop music genre, Russian performers are also in demand in Asia. Singer Polina Gagarina took part in the Chinese talent show Singer, earning the love of local viewers for her performance in Chinese. Her version of Viktor Tsoi's "Cuckoo" scored more than 38 million views in the Chinese segment of the Internet.
