Festival of Cultures of Latin America and the Caribbean started in Moscow

The Festival of Culture of Latin America and the Caribbean started on Friday, July, 21, in Moscow. It will help strengthen interaction between Russia and the countries of the region. In addition, the project will create a positive image of the metropolis as a center of creative life, according to the Moscow government.

Over the weekend, the festival program will focus on the Hermitage Garden, where viewers will be able to watch performances by creative teams and soloists. Among them are the dance duet Duo Lizunova Gorgone, Brazilian jazz ensemble Joander Santos, Ecuadorian opera singer Karen Lisbet Sosa Limones. There will also be a fashion show, a Brazilian carnival, master classes and thematic lectures. The program will be complemented by culinary shows with tasting of national cuisines.

Participants of the conference, which will become part of the Russia-Latin America Street Art project, will discuss issues of contemporary art, as well as the impact of street artists on society and the lives of citizens.

Artists from Russia and Latin American countries will combine their creativity in working on objects of contemporary art. They will paint large architectural forms.

Throughout the festival week, residents and guests of Moscow will watch films by Latin American directors, as well as documentaries about the life of the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Library of Foreign Literature will present a series of thematic lectures. It will include "Bolivian Culture", "Argentina and Russia: 138 Years of Friendship", "Culture and Traditions of Panama" and many others.

The Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, the RUDN University, Cervantes School No. 1252 will hold their events within the framework of the Festival.
