More than 1,000 books about the culture and history of Russia were donated by the Russian Club in Sydney to the fund of the First Russian Museum in Australia, which will soon open to visitors. The collection includes unique old editions brought to Australia by Russian compatriots many years ago. It is reported that the books will be available to museum visitors.
The collection will expand the museum's funds and help visitors to dive into the world of Russian literature and culture. The books cover a wide range of genres, including classical and contemporary literature, poetry, history, art, and more.
The museum noted that many of these books were collected and kept by members of the Russian Club for a long time. Some of them were brought to Australia by Russian emigrants who valued books dedicated to the history and culture of the Fatherland.
Director of the 1st Russian Museum in Australia Mikhail Ovchinnikov thanked the Russian Club in Sydney for their generosity and dedication to the preservation of Russian culture. The museum noted that the donated books will serve as a source of knowledge, inspiration and pleasure for visitors.
