50% of Russian citizens who left the country last fall have already returned. This was told by Adviser to the Head of State Maxim Oreshkin during a speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Vedomosti reports.

He called it important that people remain optimistic, and now the level of healthy optimism has reached an all-time high.

In turn, the head of the Ministry of Finance, Anton Siluanov, added that pessimists left, while optimists remained in Russia. The economic situation should be such that pessimists return to Russia too, he is sure.

Against the backdrop of the special military operation (SMO), there were several waves of emigration from Russia. The first wave occurred immediately after the start of the SMO, in the spring of 2022, and the second after the announcement of partial mobilization in September 2022.
