Open education centers in Russian will appear in 28 African countries this year, TASS reports. They will be opened by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation together with 14 teaching universities.

According to Denis Gribov, Deputy Minister of Education, the centers will allow children to learn Russian. Then those of them who become interested in the language can become participants in olympiads, competitions and other events. The Ministry of Education called African colleagues strategic partners in the field of educational cooperation.

In particular, centers will appear in Algeria, Angola, Ghana, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Mozambique, the Republic of the Congo, Tunisia, Uganda, Ethiopia, South Africa and other countries.

Work is underway to create centers of open education in Russian in more than 60 countries in Africa, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region.

Another large-scale project is the construction of Russian schools. Syria, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Vietnam are interested in such educational institutions.
