The Choral Vienna Russian-Austrian festival started on Saturday, May, 6, in the Austrian capital with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. It is held for the 8th time. Its guests and participants are two bands from Prague - "Russian Soul" and "Cossacks of the Vltava", the Viennese folklore group "Kalinka", as well as cellist, winner of international competitions Viktor Miloserdov. One of the concerts will feature the Viennese choir "Echo", which performed at the festival in previous years.

Concerts are scheduled at St. Peter's Cathedral, the Cathedral of St. Nicholas of the Russian Orthodox Church and at the Vienna International UN Centre.

On Sunday, May 7, a traditional meeting of compatriots will take place at Schwarzenbergplatz. They will gather at the monument to the Liberator Warrior and march the Immortal Regiment.

The program also includes a gala concert in honor of the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The first festival took place in autumn 2011. Eight bands performed in the Celebration Hall of the Vienna City Hall: four from Russia and four from Austria.
