The Finnish authorities have frozen the accounts of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in banks in Helsinki, RIA Novosti reports. According to local media, the decision was made almost a month ago. The reason is  anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the European Union.

The bank is prohibited from transferring and disbursing funds to anyone other than a bailiff.

Earlier, German law enforcement agencies began checking the activities of the Russian House in Berlin. It is suspected of violating the law on foreign trade by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo. The Russian Foreign Ministry promised that such measures would force Moscow to take retaliatory steps. They may affect the Russian branches of the Goethe Institute.

At the end of winter, the Romanian authorities decided to suspend the activities of the Russian Center for Culture and Science in the country.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the attempt to abolish Russian culture stupid. If Europeans are ready to live without Tchaikovsky, Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, then "we will not live without world classics," he stressed.
