Chilean-Argentine film "Three Brothers" won gran prix of Moscow International Film Festival

The results of the Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF) were summed up the day before, on April, 27, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports. MIFF President Nikita Mikhalkov called the results excellent. According to him, the festival program included more than 200 films, almost 400 screenings took place. They were visited by almost 40,000 people.

The Grand Prix went to the Chilean-Argentine film Three Brothers (''Tres Hermanos''). The statuette of the golden Saint George for the best film was received by the director and screenwriter of the film Francisco Paparella. He said that The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky inspired him to create the film. 

Karen Shakhnazarov, head of the Mosfilm film studio, was noted for his contribution to the development of world cinema.

The best among the short films was the Chinese film "Everything'' by Helai Lu. He thanked the Russian audience for the warm welcome.

The documentary film competition was won by the Russian film ''History of Russian Prisons. Vladimir Central” by Yulia Bobkova.

The main prize in the Russian Premieres program was awarded to the film The Edge of the Broken Moon by Svetlana Samoshina.

The best actress was the Japanese Kaho Seto. She was awarded for her role in the film ''Drifting Flowers, Flowing Days''. The Bolivian actor Fernando Arce won the men's nomination for his role in the film "Los de Abajo". Mexican Tonatia Garcia, the creator of the "Black Moon" movie, was recognized as the best director. His work was chosen as the best by the audience.

The special jury prize was awarded to the Bulgarian-Canadian film "FI1.618" by Teodor Ushev.

At the closing ceremony, the sports drama "The Final Game" was screened.
