Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill appealed to the Russians and Ukrainians to do everything to end the confrontation and return to peaceful life, TASS reports.

The Patriarch noted that the "Russian historical land" is going through a difficult time, and the inhabitants of both countries should pray and do good deeds for the speedy cessation of hostilities and the restoration of fraternal relations between the peoples of Russia and Ukraine.

Patriarch Kirill said that he would say a special prayer for the return of peace between the fraternal peoples, and called on everyone to join it. The patriarch hopes that the hardships will eventually lead to peace and harmony among peoples.
