Russian school students win four gold medals at International Mathematics Olympiad

All Russian participants won individual gold medals at the 14th International Olympiad Romanian Master of Mathematics. The Russians participated in the Olympiad remotely, being at the Sirius Educational Center, the website of the Russian Ministry of Education reports.

St. Petersburg lyceum students Roman Kuznetsov, Alisa Volkova, Pavel Prozorov and Eldar Khisamutdinov won gold medals. The team was led by Kirill Sukhov, a teacher of mathematics at the St. Petersburg Presidential Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 239.

Head of the Russian Ministry of Education Sergey Kravtsov congratulated school students on their victories. He noted that the amazing results of the young Russians prove the highest level of the Russian education system. 

At the last Olympiad, the Russians received two gold and two silver medals, becoming winners in the team standings along with their peers from China. According to Kirill Sukhov, schoolchildren are currently preparing to participate in the International Mathematical Olympiad, which will be held in summer in Japan.
