Exhibition dedicated to125th anniversary of Soviet film director Sergei Eisenstein kicked off in Calcutta

An exhibition dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the outstanding Soviet film director Sergei Eisenstein has opened at the Russian House in Calcutta. In addition to the exposition, screenings of the director's films, talks and discussions of Eisenstein's work have been prepared for this date. The project will last until February, 22, the Russian House telegram channel reports.

The exhibition contains works of art, posters and photographs that tell about the life and work of Eisenstein, as well as about his time. The exposition was opened by the Consul General of Russia in Calcutta Alexey Idamkin and the head of the Russian House Sergey Shushin, the art historian Samik Bandopadhyay became the guest of the ceremony.

On the first day of the exhibition, guests saw Sergei Eisenstein's film Glumov's Diary. 

The events are organized by the Russian House in Calcutta, the Eisenstein Film Club, the Film Society of North Calcutta, Cine Central Calcutta, Friends of Latin America and the Tapan Sinha Foundation.
