Two Russian artists won competition of Bologna Book Fair

Russian artists won the international competition of illustrations. It is held as part of the Bologna Book Fair for Children's Literature, Rossiyskaya Gazeta writes.

The competition was held for the 57th time. For the first time, awards were given to the best illustrators in 1967.

The organizers received almost 4,400 entries from artists from 91 countries. 24 Russian authors were among the participants.
 
As a result, the illustrations of 80 artists from 28 countries were recognized as the best. Two authors - Ksenia Avramova and Polya Plavinskaya - represent Russia. Their work can be seen at an exhibition at the Bologna Fair in the spring.

Ksenia Avramova was born in Barnaul. She began to study at the Novoaltaisk Art School, graduated from the Repin State Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. For more than five years she has been working in the Creative Studio of Graphics at the Academy of Arts.

Polya Plavinskaya was born in Moscow, studied at the Institute of Journalism and Literary Creativity and the British School of Design at the Faculty of Illustration. Now she holds the post of art director of the Samokat publishing house.
