A photo of Olympic silver medalist, two-time world champion Russian Evgenia Medvedeva has been used in the announcement in the figure skating section of the official website of the 2026 Olympic Games, RIA Novosti reports.

The site uses a shot from Medvedeva's free program from the 2018 Olympics.

Earlier, the Council of the International Skating Union (ISU) suspended Russian and Belarusian figure skaters, speed skaters and short track skaters from participating in international tournaments. The decision remains in effect until further notice.

Lat June, the ISU refused to post photos of Russian skaters at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Champions Gallery on the International Olympic Day. The champion in women's singles Anna Shcherbakova was replaced by the Japanese figure skater Kaori Sakamoto, who became the bronze medalist.
