Volunteers from 85 countries competed for "We're Together" award

Public associations of volunteers from 85 countries became participants in the "We are together" international award, TASS reports. The solemn ceremony of presenting the award took place the day before, on December, 5. It became one of the central events of the forum of the same name. It was opened in Moscow in honor of Volunteer Day, which is celebrated on December, 5.

According to Sergei Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, the volunteer movement in Russia today is in its heyday. Thousands of Russians of all ages are proud of the title of volunteer. The movement is supported by the state at the highest level, Sergey Kiriyenko specified.
Organizations from Africa, Asia and Europe submitted their projects for the award, he added.

Sergei Kiriyenko called Moscow the world capital of the volunteer movement. Thousands of volunteers from all over the world have gathered here these days.
 
112 socially significant projects proposed by authors from 47 regions of Russia were among the finalists of the award. The projects developed by volunteers, non-profit organizations and entrepreneurs from different cities of Russia from the Kaliningrad region to the Far East reached the final. The projects are aimed at helping people with disabilities, sick children, refugees and others in need.
