Russian schoolchildren win five awards at International Economics Olympiad

Russian schoolchildren became winners of the international Olympiad in Economics, TASS reports. China became the host of the tournament, it took place online. The Russian national team included five people, they won three gold and two silver awards.

The Economics Olympiad was held for the 5th time. More than 200 people from more than 40 countries fought for the victory. In the team standings, the Russians were in 4th place.

Gold went to Muscovites Andrei Smirnov and Anton Bortnikov, as well as Boris Ivanchikov from Chelyabinsk. Silver awards went to Ekaterina Leksina and Dmitry Monakhov from Moscow.

The Olympiad consists of three rounds. Each is dedicated to a different topic: financial literacy, economics, and business case solving. The first two stages are evaluated individually, in the last stage the participants work in teams.

Earlier, Russian schoolchildren once again demonstrated a high level of training. The International Linguistics Tournament ended on July, 29. It was hosted by the Isle of Man. All members of the team also brought awards. The title of absolute winner was won by Muscovite Artyom Borisov.

All members of the Russian team won gold medals at the International School Chemistry Olympiad. It took place in Tianjin, China.
