Flutist from San Marino to come to Russia to honor victims of Beslan tragedy

A flutist from San Marino, Monica Moroni, will become the guest of the commemorative ceremony, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the terrorist attack in Beslan. The misician is going to perform in front of School No. 1, where the tragedy happened in 2004. The next day she will is going to play in the Beslan concert hall, RIA Novosti reports.

Mauro Murgia, head of the representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia in Italy, acted organized the trip. According to him, the flutist was invited by the Association of Victims of Terrorist Acts "Mothers of Beslan". Monica Moroni will start her performance with the Russian anthem. She performed it a year ago in San Marino at a ceremony at the monument to the children of Beslan. 

In 2004, terrorists seized a school in Beslan during a festive assembly. More than 1200 people were taken hostage, 334 died, of which 186 were children. About 800 people were injured, 126 former hostages became disabled.

Since 2005, Russia has been celebrating September 3 as the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism. It was established in memory of the tragedy in Beslan that occurred on September 1-3, 2004. This day also commemorates the victims of terrorist attacks and law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty.
