80 crews, 20 countries: Silk Way Rally starts in Astrakhan

The Silk Way Rally starts on Thursday, July 7. Crews set off from Astrakhan. The final is scheduled for July 16, it will take place at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. Participants must overcome about 4,500 kilometers. The route is divided into ten stages. For the first time, it was laid across the territory of Chechnya and Dagestan.

80 crews from 20 countries are fighting for victory. Nine motorcycles and the same number of trucks, twenty-five SUVs, almost a dozen ATVs are taking part in the competition. 20 amateur crews will join the rally. They will become participants of the Roads of Peter tour.

The Silk Way rally will bring together racers from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. The rally will be the 12th in a row. Two years ago, it was interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic. Last year, the race route had to be shortened, abandoning the Chinese and Mongolian sections.
